What’s your essential festival item? Enter our competition for a chance to win a Festival Pack from Outdoor Camping Direct
We recently introduced you to Outdoor Camping Direct – an online store specialising in camping and outdoor gear – and took a look at their handy Standard Festival Pack, where for £49.99 you get a tent, sleeping bag, and lots of other useful stuff to make your festival weekend a safe and comfortable one.
Now, as promised, one lucky Holiday & Travel Directory reader can win the Standard Festival Pack that Outdoor Camping Direct sent us to review. So, whether you’re heading off to one of the remaining festivals taking place this autumn, or fancy keeping it ready for when the festival season all kicks off again in 2016, it’s a great giveaway. Needless to say, thank you to Outdoor Camping Direct for supplying such a cool (and useful) prize!
How to enter
To be in with a chance to win, you just have to activate your creative juices and – in Desert Island Discs style – complete the following sentence:
“The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be…”
So, you can choose something from the actual Festival Pack (as described in our review) and tell us – in a way that is witty, clever, silly, or anything else – why that would be your essential item.
Or, you can be imaginative, and tell us, in an ideal world, what (or perhaps even who!) would be the essential item in your Festival Pack – be practical, be fanciful, but either way be original. Who knows, perhaps (if your suggestion is not too unrealistic or large) Outdoor Camping Direct might even consider adding it their actual Festival Packs for next year!
You can choose whether you’d like to enter the competition via Twitter, Facebook, or the Holiday & Travel Directory website – but please only enter once, and make sure you do it no later than the closing date of 23:59 on 18 September 2015 – and we’ll choose our favourite entry to win the prize. We’ll also showcase a selection of the best remaining entries in a blog here at the Holiday & Travel Directory.

My essential item would be a pair of wellies and a rainmac
The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be – ear plugs and wet wipes
My essential item would be the tent. Sleeping under the stars is a wonderful experience, but not in autumn and not in the UK. I don’t want to be soaked, get a cold bum and bitten by the mozzies as their final feast at the festival!
A decent tent to set up home in
The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be a kindle paperwhite to help me relax between the bands i want to see 🙂
The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be a portable phone charger!

You’ve just posted a comment using the form, Linda! 🙂
The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be a big strong man to carry all my equipment – but failing that, a nice roomy backpack to help me transport it would do, I guess!
My essential festie item is good vibes and super soft toilet roll… ( the latter is most helpful for good vibes)
The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be…a rain poncho. It’s amazing how I manage to forget one every time and therefore I have several stuffed in the under stairs cupboard. In an emergency I have been known to use one for the school run – gets a few funny looks though.
My essential item would be the lantern as my badger Seth comes with me to all my festivals . It’s good because when it’s light he will sleep instead of raving in the tent . It’s also good as it attracts all the insects that get in the tent to one place where I can gather them up and place in seths food bowl in the morning.
The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be plastic bags! Perfect for when it rains a little to heavy to save your feet, perfect for putting muddy wellies in, perfect for protecting your hair if you forgot your brollie, perfect for clearing rubbish – I never go camping without plenty of plastic bags.
Boring I know but it has to be a large packet of wet wipes – so many uses
It has to be my wellies & rain mac
The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be a can of deodorant!

A good torch to find my way to the loo at night!!

Toilet paper
“The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be…“WETWIPES a V V V V V big bag
Has to be wet wipes! Definitely….
Wet Wipes
The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be….the lantern as I get scared of the dark and don’t like bugs!!!
Would suggest wet-wipes, but see so many already have!
So I’ll say a cracking bunch of mates instead!
The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be…a scented face mask which I would store inside my roll of luxury toilet paper so that going to the loo would not be such an unpleasant experience next time.
Wet wipes, so handy for everything
The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be a tent, everything else you can sort at a later time!
definately loo roll!
Wellies but don’t forget to take some talc, it’s so versatile at getting rid of smells in your willies and on your body (bit under the armpits) – you can even use it on your hair (that’s what we used to use before dry shampoo came along!)
Oops sorry meant to say willies in the last comment bit of a freudian slip!
The joys of autocorrect! ROFL
My essential would be,
maybe a flask for my cup of tea?
but more likely a plastic cup to put beer in,
it’s thirsty work all that dancin’ and cheerin’!
The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be…my other half, or wet wipes!
The essential item in my Outdoor Camping Direct Festival Pack would be….the tent because without it no camping there would be! The British weather doesn’t suit for camping under stars, much as I would love to lie and gaze up at Mars.
