Visit Maldives for a luxury holiday in paradise
When you think of the Maldives, your mind immediately thinks of luxury and paradise beyond your wildest dreams. And that really isn’t far from the truth.
Life in the Maldives is one of true simplicity, with everything focused on year-round sunshine, beautiful beaches and stunning coral sunk into the bluest sea you could ever imagine.
It is a haven for tourists looking to sample a life of a luxury, whether that’s on a honeymoon, anniversary break or just the holiday of a lifetime. For those looking to splash out there is nowhere quite like it.
As a tourist visiting the Maldives, you can expect to be pampered like never before. It is peppered with luxury resorts from which you can take your pick, ranging from boutique hotels to large luxury resorts. If you really want to push the boat out you can stay in an overwater bungalow, a water villa propped up on stilts directly over the crystal clear waters. There’s nothing quite like waking up and hearing the sea lapping underneath you, before opening the door and seeing nothing but ocean stretching out into the distance.
Unsurprisingly, diving and snorkelling are high on the list of popular activities in the Maldives, with huge expanses of beautiful coral and marine wildlife to explore and enjoy. Despite troubles suffered from tsunamis and other natural disasters in recent years, the area is still wealthy in its natural beauty and continues to offer some of the best diving in the world.
It’s not all about sea life, though, and if you don’t fancy getting your feet wet then there is plenty to see and do on dry land. The bustling capital, Malé, is a modern and thriving city which is like nowhere else in the Maldives, and provides travellers with a fantastic contrast to the slow-paced beach life in most other places. It is also a stark contrast to historical areas like Isdhoo, where Buddhist remains have been excavated and unveil the Maldives’ pre-Islamic history.
Tourists head to the Maldives expecting a more luxurious experience than they’ve ever experienced, and when they arrive they aren’t disappointed. Budget travellers might find visiting this place a little more challenging, as even the cheap resorts aren’t ‘cheap’ in the real world. But if you’re looking to splash out and enjoy the holiday of a lifetime then the Maldives truly fits the bill.
