You might recall that last summer we introduced you to the Netherlands-based online holiday provider HolidayParkSpecials, one of the businesses that we’re pleased to list in our Directory.

HolidayParkSpecials works with over 700 holiday parks across Europe, including ones in France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, and the Netherlands, and has built a reputation as the go-to website for the best holiday park destinations.

Now, drawing solely from the ratings and reviews of its customers, HolidayParkSpecials has just revealed the names of the best holiday parks in Europe for 2016!

How do the awards work?

Following their visit, HolidayParkSpecials’ guests are able to rate their experience at each holiday park based on a number of different aspects, including general characteristics of the park, (location of) the accommodation, and the hospitality of the staff.

Each year, the results are then calculated and a winner awarded per category, such as Most Luxury Holiday Park and Most Child-Friendly Holiday Park.

HolidayParkSpecials’ aim is to make it easier for future guests to find the perfect park for them and their family, while also rewarding the top-performing parks for their hard work and excellence.

Best holiday park in Holland

For the third consecutive year, Efteling Village Bosrijk (pictured) has been named the best holiday park in the Netherlands by HolidayParkSpecials guests.

Rather handily, Efteling Village Bosrijk is situated right next door to Efteling theme park, which has been the most-visited theme park in the Netherlands since 1952.

With an impressive rating of 8.8, Efteling Village Bosrijk has also claimed the title for the Most Atmospheric Holiday Park in Europe. Reviews from holidaymakers have highlighted the park’s “luxury cottages with excellent service from staff” and “a truly magical experience.”

Certainly, with its fairytale-themed accommodation, and unlimited free entry into the adjacent theme park, you can see why Efteling Village Bosrijk is so highly rated.

Best park group in Europe

Another winner to secure the award for the third year running is the Dutch park group Landal GreenParks – one of the most well-known hospitality brands across Europe, and part of the Wyndham Vacation Rentals Family of Brands. Landal GreenParks is also celebrating winning awards for two of its holiday parks in Germany.

Meanwhile, the coveted award for Most Child-Friendly Holiday Park has gone to Slagharen theme park and resort in the Netherlands – like Efteling Village Bosrijk, another place that combines comfortable accommodation with rides and attractions on the doorstep.

As well as the Netherlands, there are awards for the best holiday park in each other country, too. In Belgium, the winner is Domaine Le Boulac, located in the scenic Ardennes, while the award for Germany’s best holiday park has gone to Lindner Ferienpark Nürburgring, where colourful wooden cottages overlook the Hocheifel mountains.

Congratulations to all the winners! There are far more than we can feature here, so head over to the HolidayParkSpecials website if you’d like to know which parks have come out top in all the other categories.
